Today we are looking forward to the Belgian Cats, Sacoor, Borlée and Couckuyt | Olympics

The less good news: today starts a new working week. The great news: the Olympics are not standing still. Our compatriots are ready to spoil us on the athletics track, in the water and on the basketball court. Curious what Monday has in store? These are the toppers on day 10.

Imke Vervaet set her best time in the 200m. She advances to the semi-finals to 12.25 pm. Around that same hour flies Fanny Smets through the airspace in the pole vault qualifiers.

In the semi-finals we see another trio of Belgians shine. Kevin Borlée and Jonathan Sacoor put their best foot forward in the 400 meters 13:05. Paulien Couckuyt sharpened the Belgian record in the 400m hurdles last night. Will she do that again tomorrow? You can see it from 13.35 o’clock.

Last, but certainly not least: the Belgian Cats. The Belgian women’s basketball will take on China in their last group match. Follow it from the front row! Appointment to 10.20 am.

Greek gymnastics god on the rings

30 years and won everything there was to win. Eleftherios Petrounias is a living legend in Greece and in the gymnastics world. Looking forward to the small – 1.64 meters – Olympic champion at the rings.

In Rio, he beat a Brazilian and a Russian on his way to gold. In 2017 and 2018 he became world champion in the discipline. Is the bony Greek holding on to his title? Follow the final of the rings at 10am.

Gold (x3) for Sifan Hassan?

Gold on the 1,500 meters, the 5,000 meters and the 10,000 meters. That is the plan of the Dutch Sifan Hassan. Tomorrow at 2.40 pm the first Olympic title can already follow.

After the series of the 1,500 meters in the morning, the Dutch runner can prepare for a first final. In the 5,000 meters she has to deal with the Turkish Yasemin Can and the Kenyan ladies. Will tomorrow be the start of a beautiful triptych for Hassan?

North American Football Neighbors Game

In football, the Canadian women’s last win against the United States dates back to 2001. You read that right. For 20 years the Americans have been undefeated against the little brother, or in this case: sister.

“Then let’s stunt now, in the semifinals of the Olympic football tournament”, the Canadians will probably think. Are they making history? If you are up early, you can follow the match at 3am.
