BOLASPORT.COM – Chelsea coach, Thomas Tuchel, plans to turn some of his attackers into wing-backs for the 2021-2022 season.

Since changing coaches from Frank Lampard to Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea have also experienced changes in their playing style.

The use of formations is the most obvious of all.

Under the direction of Frank Lampard, Chelsea tend to rely on a four-back formation either 4-3-3 or 4-1-4-1.

Meanwhile, after being coached by Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea more often use a three-back formation, especially 3-4-2-1.

In the last match, a friendly against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday (1/8/2021), Tuchel’s Chelsea also played with a 3-4-2-1 formation.

With such a formation, Tuchel also needs a wing-back who can play the role of a wing-back, aka a defender who often helps attack from the side of the field.

Luckily for Tuchel, he has plenty of players at Chelsea who can play that role.
