They denounce that they prevented journalists and independent media from covering the arrival of Venezuelan athletes

The journalist Wilder Delgado reported that the sports federations were not able to attend the reception of the athletes because they were not invited.

The National College of Journalists (CNP) denounced that the authorities of the administration of Nicolás Maduro prevented journalists and independent media from covering the arrival of the sports delegation who participated in the Olympic games in Tokyo.

Through its Twitter account, the CNP stated that the off-side it was only for private media not accredited by the Ministry of Communication and Information, since the official press was allowed access without any setback.

The journalist and secretary of CNP Caracas, Edgar Cárdenas, He stated that preventing access to independent media to cover the arrival of Olympic athletes (respecting plurality), “forces the citizen to receive official propaganda and not truthful information.”

For his part, journalist Wilder Delgado also reported that the sports federations could not attend either to the reception of the athletes because they were not invited.

According to the newspaper The Truth of Vargas, the Ministry of Youth and Sports prepared a welcome with cultural and musical presentations, where the athletes shared with family and friends, to then leave in a caravan to the Miraflores palace, where they will be received by Nicolás Maduro.
