With the initiatives of the District Governor and Deputy Mayor Sinan Aslan, the youth gained a multi-purpose area where they could do sports in the sports facility that was brought to the neighborhood.
In his speech at the opening, Aslan said that he has been making efforts to build sports facilities in all neighborhoods since the day he took office.
Stating that he wants young people and citizens to have areas where they can do sports, Aslan noted the following:
“Our sports facilities in 21 rural neighborhoods are about to be completed. In addition, football and basketball courts are being built. We intended to design and put into service places where not only boys but also our girls can play volleyball and basketball. We have a sports complex in our Karsiyaka neighborhood and two separate indoor gyms for our women. Services are provided in dance, boxing and many imaginable fields. Studies for youth will continue without interruption. As a result of our work with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, we will bring a gym with a capacity of 2,000 to our district. A tender will be made in the near future. The district field will be built in the city center. We aim to design areas that all our citizens living in rural and central neighborhoods can benefit from in our district with a population of 350 thousand.”
After the speeches, the members of the protocol, who cut the opening ribbon, toured the facility.
