The Paul Boutin Challenge will host 32 teams

BALL. The most important ball tournament in the region will get underway this Friday in Coaticook with the presentation of the 2e Paul Boutin challenge, from August 20 to 22.

No less than 32 teams will be present there and will be divided into three classes (CDE). Just like last year, the games will take place simultaneously on three fields, namely those of the Julien-Morin stadium, Laurence park and Denis-Marcoux park.

The official opening will take place on Friday at 8 p.m. and should pit Paul Boutin’s team, the soul of the tournament, against Conception Desrosiers / STA, last year’s finalist in class C.

Despite the health context that has left several organizations in uncertainty, the idea of canceling the tournament has never crossed the minds of the leaders of the Paul Boutin Challenge. “We are quite a go-getter by nature and as last year’s edition went well, it was clear to us that the event had to return. We even intend to make it even bigger in the coming years, when the situation will return a little more to normal, ”argues Alexandre Madore, one of the organizers in the company of Jean-Thomas Madore, Jean-François Blouin and Sara Favreau- Perreault.

Admission remains free for spectators and the profits generated by the sale of food and drink will be redistributed to the Coaticook minor baseball as well as to the Rocket (junior) and Big Bill (senior) organizations.

The finals will be presented Sunday afternoon and early evening at the Julien-Morin stadium.
