The legendary goalkeeper Lundqvist will not continue his professional career

The 39-year-old Lundqvist experienced the brightest moments of his career as a member of the National Hockey League (NHL) Rangers of New York, winning 459 wins in 15 seasons, scoring an average of 2.43 goals and playing 64 “dry” games.

He ranks sixth in NHL victories, seventh in deflections (23,509), eighth in matches (887), ninth in duel (871) and time on ice (51,816 minutes and 51 seconds) and 17th in dry games. .

In 2006, Lundqvist helped the Swedish national team win gold medals at the Olympic Games.

In September last year, the Rangers bought out his contract and Lundqvist signed a one-season $ 1.5 million deal with the Washington Capitals, joining another NHL team for the first time in his career. However, it later became known that the Swedish goalkeeper needed heart surgery, which was performed in January. In July, he resumed training and at the end of the same month became an unrestricted free agent, thus not playing any game in the “Capitals” shirt.

Lundqvist played 887 in the NHL Regular Championship and 130 in the Stanley Cup. Nine seasons ago, he was named the league’s best goalkeeper, but in 2014 he was close to winning the Stanley Cup, however, in the Rangers’ final series with 1-4, he recognized the superiority of the Los Angeles Kings.

Lundqvist owns almost all of the Rangers goalkeeper record and the New York team plans to capture his 30th issue next season.
