The campus ‘Mini heroes’ says goodbye after having had the participation of 310 children

This year’s has been the edition with the most registered

The Councilor for Sports, Rubén Antoñanzas, gave the boys and girls of the last group of the “Mini Heroes” campus in Las Norias this afternoon the diploma certifying their participation. In total there have been 310 children, between 6 and 12 years old, who during two months in weekly shifts -as Antoñanzas has pointed out- «have learned all kinds of sports, enjoyed the pool and slides, consolidated values and had fun with a lots of new friends.

In this way the Councilor for Sports has summarized what for many has been “the best summer of their lives, as they are transmitting it to us.”

Europa Press collects that from the point of view of the number of registrants, this has been the most successful edition of the campus, which had to increase the number of places (40 more than initially planned) as the offer was covered in the first days.

The activities that take place are the main attraction but the installation is also very important. «Las Norias is the ideal place for this campus because it offers numerous possibilities for practicing all kinds of sports, for doing crafts or for other games. Always outdoors and in wide spaces. It is also comfortable for families, since they take advantage of the campus in the morning for their sons and daughters and then they all stay together for the afternoon. ”Logroño Deporte launches this service in summer thinking about fun and learning the smallest but also as a family conciliation resource.

Thus, from 8 am to 3 pm, participants are organized into different groups of 10 led by an instructor. With different monitors they practice baseball, fencing, basketball, hockey, tennis, racquetball, climbing, badminton, ping pong, archery *; they play foosball or board games; they rehearse choreographies and, of course, enjoy swimming in the pool and jumping down the slides.

“It is – points out Antoñanzas – a very rewarding experience for them but it also brings them closer to different sports, creating a hobby that we hope they will consolidate later during the winter. We are sure that with this campus we are encouraging them to continue practicing sports and observing healthy lifestyle habits afterwards.
