The bases for the 2022 edition of the Federal Women’s Tournament confirmed

The news for the TFFB next season arrived. There will be an incorporation of qualifying stages and a growth in the number of participating teams will be sought.

A week after the definition of the Federal Women’s Tournament, in the last hours the CAB Competition area released the first details of what will be the next edition of the national competition.

Looking ahead to 2022, it seeks to accommodate its calendar, expand geographic coverage and encourage an increase in the number of teams involved. The estimated starting date is the first fortnight of January, establishing a parameter that is intended to be sustained from now on: that the tournament begins in the first month of the year. This allows the dispute of the respective Pre-Federal or Regional Tournaments around the entire country, which award places for each of the divisions. It is expected that they will be held from August to November of this year, so that the new promotions can be defined for the beginning of the next edition.

Depending on the region, they can be provincial or regional tournaments, that is, they bring together more than one provincial federation. The initiative will not only be maintained but will seek to deepen from now on, since for the 2023 season, no team will have a guaranteed place in the tournament but all will have to go through their respective regional qualifying stages as of August 2022.

In the current edition, a total of 25 teams participated, with this new format the gradual incorporation of several new institutions can be specified, since this year many decided not to participate due to the health situation.

The composition of the squads will be the same as that of this last tournament. Teams may have up to 8 players over 21 years of age, having to meet the minimum requirement of 3. The rest of the players who complete the list in good faith will therefore be under 21 years of age. In the case of the clubs that participate in the 2021 National Women’s League, they may have older players as long as they have been signed into the institution with more than 3 years of seniority. They must also meet the condition of presenting a maximum of two older players on the roster for each game.
