Sebastián Méndez resigned as coach of Godoy Cruz

After the 3-0 defeat against Vélez in the Professional League, Gallego made the decision to take a step alongside Tomba.

This new edition of the Professional League had several negative consequences, especially for the technical directors. Sebastian Mendez gave up Godoy Cruz and he became the sixth coach to leave his position, in just nine dates.

El Gallego decided to step aside after the poor results with Tomba in the last half. Although he had not had a bad start to the campaign – in which he has ten units – the truth is that of the last four dates he could only get one draw and three losses.

The last one was this Sunday before Velez, in which he lost 3-0 at Liniers. After the duel, the coach He did not want to go out to speak at a press conference and told the players in the locker room that he was resigning from his position.

He had two stages in Godoy Cruz: the first from 2016 to mid-2017, where he played 32 games and obtained a balance of 17 wins, 5 draws and 10 losses. This second cycle of Méndez comprised 23 matches, with 8 wins, 4 draws and 11 losses.
