Saints: cornerback Patrick Robinson bows out

Maybe the injuries eventually got the better of his motivation. In any case, Patrick Robinson has decided to end his NFL career. It was his agent who announced it to the NFL Network.

The 34-year-old was yet in training camp with the Saints and appeared in the race for a starting cornerback spot. His decision therefore leaves one less option for the Bayou team behind Marshon Lattimore.

Prince Amukamara, Brian Poole or Chauncey Gardner-Johnson are now in the fight for the number two position. Not necessarily reassuring in a division where it will be necessary to face twice the Buccaneers of the armada of Tom Brady.

Selected in 32nd position in the 2010 Draft, Robinson will therefore have spent 11 seasons in the NFL. He has only managed to play all games in a campaign three times. He left all the same with a title, gleaned during his only season with Philadelphia, in 2017-18.
