Sacramento champion and Louis King crowned MVP, the Kings are the hit of the summer of 2021

Barely enough time to turn around after a colorful end to the Olympic tournament, the Summer League in Las Vegas is on its way. Traditional theater of the first exploits of the future (already?) Cracks of the League. Lottery picks and kids brought to play this season in their respective franchises of course, but also a few French people (nine in total) and boys from the grocery store on the corner of the street who are giving everything to make a name for themselves, because that on a misunderstanding it can pass. Come on, little recap of what you missed – or not – last night, we’re going quietly but we’re going anyway, and we take the opportunity to close the shop.

The results of the night:

  • Mavericks – Heat : 83-82
  • Jazz – Sixers : 78-103
  • Rockets – Blazers : 95-92
  • Nets – Raptors : 72-86
  • Lakers – Warriors : 84-76
  • Pelicans – Wolves : 87-59
  • Kings – Celtics : 100-67

Special evening yesterday in Las Vegas because if the Summer League was firing its fireworks over eight (not too) intense days, a bunch of franchises had decided, some for a few days already, to let a good part of their leaders rest. After all, we are there to find or rediscover sensations, so we might as well make everyone play and not toast anyone. No Max Strus nor Omer Yurtseven for the Heat, nor Trent Forrest or Udoka Azuibuike for Jazz and even less Isaiah Joe, Filip Petrusev or Tyrese Maxey for the Sixers. No Aleperen Sengun, no Kenyon Martin Jr. or Jalen Green for the Rockets, no Cam Thomas for the Nets, no Precious Achiuwa, Scottie Barnes or Malachi Flynn for the Raptors, and no Jonathan Kuminga or Gary Payton II for the Warriors or Jaden McDaniels or Jaylen Nowell for the Wolves or Trey Murphy for the Pels. Breathing, and if your favorite is on the list you can go your way.

What to remember from last night, about the guys who HAVE played? Well, it is therefore the Kings who end this Summer League unbeaten (5-0), all crowned with a final won against the Celtics yet in steamroller mode since the start of the tournament. Romeo Langford was absent for Boston, one more yours, and the Pritchards (back after his escapade in CFA2), Edwards or Nesmith will not have managed to settle the target tonight (7/36 of the parking lot) while in face Bobby Jackson was once again strumming wonderfully and involving everyone. From Jahmi’us Ramsey to MVP Louis King (still 21 points and 5 steals this night), through the energizer Emmanuel Terry (9 points, 15 rebounds and… 5 steals) or the rookie Davion Mitchell, sometimes at a loss of level address on this SL but already very solid in distribution and, above all, in defense, everyone took part in the party to offer the Kings their first trophy since… 1951, at a time when Alex from TrashTalk was still just a sociological theorist. In short, a day without for the C’s but above all a victory and a deserved title for the Kings who played the game in Vegas, the real game, that of the floors, and who will have literally rolled over Boston in the second half to conclude their beautiful month of August.
