“Russell Westbrook is not a loser, it is an exaggerated impression”

Recently traded to the Lakers, Russell Westbrook now has the opportunity of his life to finally become champion. However, some believe that the absence of the ring would not harm its heritage. A famous NBA analyst has in any case delivered a striking plea in this direction, there is little.

And Russell Westbrook is finally in a position to win his first ring, not everyone is happy with his arrival in Los Angeles. Indeed, many believe that its association with LeBron James and Anthony Davis is doomed to failure for lack of compatibility. It starts well … especially since ending up without a title would damage his reputation damn well.

However, not all of them break sugar on Brodie’s back. Guest of the show Undisputed, Chris Broussard thus delivered a flamboyant plea about it. The Fox Sports analyst explained in particular that the legacy of the leader was not to be called into question by his collective record:

If he wins a title, and I guess he plays a big part in winning it… If the Lakers win a title, and he’s a role player, averaging 13 points per game and not playing so many minutes at the end of the game, that doesn’t help much. But if he wins the title as a member of a real Big Three, and he’s valuable and you see his contribution… there can’t be any detractors.

This guy did it all individually. He received the MVP title, he performed four times a season in triple-doubles, which no one has done in basketball history, he has been All-NBA nine times. As for winning… I know he didn’t win a title. But the idea that he can’t win at all is overstated.

He’s been in the NBA Finals, he’s been in four conference finals. He won more than Steve Nash, and Steve Nash also had great teams – Amar’e Stoudemire, Joe Johnson, Shawn Marion. Westbrook won more than Nash. So I’m just saying he’s not this loser who has no chance of winning. It’s just that he didn’t win a title.

A nice speech from the journalist, which should please RW. Beyond the lack of collective success, we often forget to what extent his individual performances are legendary. If he sometimes forces his game a lot, Westbrook is undoubtedly one of the most intense players to have ever played on the floors of the big league. Seeing him win a ring would therefore be deserved.

Chris Broussard announces it loud and clear, Russell Westbrook should not be too judged on his lack of champion’s ring. The Brodie will be able to restore this confidence to him in 2021-22, by… winning the title with the Lakers.
