Roberto Mancini Hats off to 2020 Olympics Fastest Runner

Roberto Mancini congratulates and pays tribute to Lamont Marcell Jacobs. The Italian sprinter won the gold medal in the 2020 Olympics 100 meters.

Jacobs became a sensation after being the fastest in the men’s 100-meter athletic final at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Competing at the National Stadium, Sunday (1/8/2021) mala WIB, he recorded a time of 9.80 seconds.

The 26-year-old sprinter finished 0.04 faster than American Fred Kerley, who won silver. The bronze medal was won by Canadian runner, Andre De Grasse.

This is Italy’s first gold medal in the 100-meter track in Olympic history. Lamont Marcell Jacobs became the first European runner to win this event since Linford Christite (United Kingdom) at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.

Jacobs’ success in the 100-meter run has fulfilled Italy’s athletic gold medal at the 2020 Olympics. Previously, Gianmarco Tamberi won the gold medal in the men’s high jump.

The addition of two golds from athletics brought Italy soared to the ninth position of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic medal standings. The country of the Tower of Pisa has already collected 4 gold, 8 silver and 15 bronze.

Jacobs and Tamberi’s classy achievements received appreciation from the Italian national team coach, Roberto Mancini. The 56-year-old said their achievements were extraordinary.

“You are a story. All medals are fantastic. Forza #ItaliaTeam,” Mancini tweeted.

Roberto Mancini previously managed to fly the Italian flag at the 2020 European Cup. He delivered The Azzurri became the champion, after conquering England via penalty shootout at Wembley Stadium.
