Rennes in the Tottenham squad

The Breton club inherited the pool of death with Spurs, Vitesse Arnhem and Slovenians from NS Mura.

The draw, made on Friday in Istanbul, pitted Rennes against Tottenham, one of the competition’s big favorites, in Group G of the new Europa League Conference. The Dutch from Vitesse Arnhem and the Slovenes from NS Mura will also be on the program for Bruno Genesio’s team.

Winners of their barrage against Rosenborg (2-0, 3-1), the Bretons fell into the pool of death. Hotspurs Son Heung-min and Blues captain Hugo Lloris have won their first two Premier League matches.

They will be able to count this season on their star striker Harry Kane, who wanted to leave this summer before changing his mind. The Englishman scored twice on Thursday to allow his team to eliminate Paços de Ferreira in the qualifying jump-off (3-0, first leg: 0-1). Arnhem finished fourth in the last Dutch Championship season. NS Mura is the Slovenian champion.

Affordable draw for Mourinho’s Roma

Another big favorite, coach José Mourinho’s Roma, has inherited from Louhansk (Ukraine), CSKA Sofia (Bulgaria) and Bodo / Glimt (Norway).

The first of the group is qualified for the knockout stages. The second must play a play-off against a third from the Europa League to reach this stage.

The final of this brand new European Cup, with a much smaller range than the Champions League and the Europa League, is scheduled for May 25 in Tirana, Albania.
