Rahm announces his participation in the Estrella Damm de Valderrama

Jon Rahm, world number one and champion of the US Open, announced on Tuesday his participation in the next tournament Estrella Damm Andalucía Masters, which will be played at the Real Club Valderrama field, in San Roque (Cádiz), next October.

The 26-year-old Basque player plans to return to a tournament that will take place from October 14 to 17 in the town of Cádiz and in which he already participated in 2019, the organization reported in a statement.

Rahm has achieved two of his seven victories on the European Tour on Spanish soil, so now he wants to try to win in one of the most famous fields in Europe, which has hosted, among other tournaments, the Ryder Cup.

In his last appearance at Valderrama, Rahm finished second behind the South African Christiaan Bezuidenhout.

“I have unfinished business at Valderrama, of course,” Rahm said in reference to his runner-up two years ago.

“All Spaniards want to win in this field,” he said in statements released by the organization.

“Whenever I play in my country or at home I enjoy it very much. The Spanish fans are very special to me and I look forward to seeing them on the golf course again,” he added.

Since turning pro in 2017, Rahm has racked up 12 victories on the European Tour and the PGA Tour, including his US Open win last July at Torrey Pines and his four Rolex Series titles.
