Premier League: Willian ‘forgives’ Arsenal 24 million to sign for Corinthians

Willian Borges’ passage through Arsenal is already history. The former Chelsea player, who was free in the summer of 2020, is leaving the Emirates after a season in which he has played 37 games, scored one goal and delivered seven assists.

It does so by ‘forgiving’ 23.9 million -receive 280,000 euros per week- of the two-year contract that remained with the ‘gunners’.

The reason is worth it. The ex of Anzhi Makhachkala and Shakhtar Donetsk returns ‘home’. Willian returns to the club in which he formed and from which he left in 2007: Corinthians.

The announcement is not official yet, but even Arsenal itself has taken it for granted. “Willian look for a new opportunity in Corinthians, where he started his career”, read the official statement from Arsenal.
