The classic judo pentathlon is based on the ancient Olympic Games. “Penta” is the Greek prefix for “five”. As part of the “Judolympics”, the disciplines were adapted to the sport: long jump (judo mat long jump), javelin throw (medicine ball throw), stadium run (run around the competition area – Cooper run), wrestling (Japanese judo tournament), run (judo obstacle course), discus (judo vortex), gymnastics (Synchronized judo demonstration), horse competition (piggyback competition) and heavy athletics (partner excavation). Another discipline comes from the field of culture.

Competition with partner

The judo pentathlon thus consists of general and judo-specific exercises. The disciplines are designed as individual competitions and competitions with partners. Experienced judoka can help beginners and score points together.

Since many exercises could not be carried out due to the Corona restrictions, the two TSV coaches Joachim Fels and Torsten Zettelmeier created alternatives.
