Clermont Foot should have a new recruit in the coming hours. According to the Catalan media Mundo Deportivo, the defensive midfielder at the end of his contract with FC Barcelona, Oriol Busquets, must sign with the promoted Auvergne.

At 22, Oriol Busquets will discover a third club after having been at Twente (Eredivisie, Dutch D1) during the 2019-2020 season (21 games). The Spanish midfielder never really had his chance at FC Barcelona, settling for two Copa del Rey matches in 2017-2018 and 2018-2019. In 2018, he extended his contract until June 30, 2021, with FC Barcelona setting a release clause at 200 million euros. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan club submitted a proposal for a contract extension to him, but “the two parties could not agree on the conditions”.
No Pepelu, but Busquets
