Olympian surprises woman who paid for taxi to stadium with go…

It would have been close if Hansle Parchment, Olympic champion in the 110 meter hurdles, hadn’t even made it to the start in the final. Thanks to a Japanese volunteer who helped him out, he made it to the stadium just in time. Parchment shared a video on social media showing how he surprised the young lady with his gold medal.

The Jamaican has only now announced that he took the wrong bus from the Olympic village on his big day a week ago. That didn’t take him to the athletics stadium, but to the Olympic swimming pool. When Parchment realized that, there wasn’t enough time to turn back and catch the right bus. The hurdler decided to take a taxi, and because he had no money in his pocket, he approached a Japanese volunteer for help. The young lady, Tiana, shot the Jamaican for the money, and the rest is history.

Parchment had not forgotten his savior. The hurdler visited the young lady again a few days later to show her his medal, refund her for the taxi ride, and hand her a shirt. ‘Always be good to each other’, advises the Jamaican. Tiana, in turn, shared a photo in the Jamaican sports jersey.
