NFL: JK Dobbins’ season compromised

It looks like the Baltimore Ravens will have to make do without running back JK Dobbins for the entire 2021 season.

The 22-year-old injured a knee on Saturday in a 37-3 preseason win over Washington soccer team.

In the first quarter of the game, he caught a short throw from Lamar Jackson and he fell awkwardly. His club’s medical staff spent a long time with him on the pitch and he was taken off the playing area with a cart.

According to what the NFL Network said, Dobbins would have torn ligaments. Medical exams will be held on Sunday and if the worst ever turns out, the running back’s season will be over before it starts.

Last year, in his first NFL campaign, Dobbins tallied 805 yards and nine majors in 15 games. He also caught 18 passes for 120 yards.

The Ohio State product was to share the job with Gus Edwards in the Ravens backfield in 2021. If his absence is confirmed, the Baltimore club will have to ask more of Ty’Son Williams.

The Ravens kick off their regular season on Monday, September 13, when they visit the Raiders in Las Vegas.
