“Ziya Berhan Kılıç 3×3 Street Basketball Tournament”, organized by Çorlu Municipality Youth and Sports Club (ÇBSK) and supported by Çorlu Municipality, in memory of Ziya Berhan Kılıç, one of our valuable athletes trained by Çorlu, has ended. In the tournament, which witnessed breathtaking struggles, 260 athletes broke into sweat.
from Tekirdag, Bursa, Edirne, Kirklareli, Isparta, Istanbul and Izmir; Ziya Berhan Kılıç 3×3 Street Basketball Tournament, in which 65 teams and 260 athletes participated in the categories of those born in 2001 and before, those born in 2002-2003, those born in 2004-2005, those born in 2006-2007 and those born in 2008 and later, was held in Hürriyet Mahallesi Nazım Hikmet Ran Park. Speaking at the opening of the tournament, Çorlu Mayor Ahmet Sarıkurt stated that they want to keep the memory of Çorlu Municipality Youth and Sports Club (ÇBSK) Basketball A Team captain Ziya Berhan Kılıç, whom we lost in the past months, and to raise young people who love sports like him, and said, “I know that we have gone through difficult times as a country. We are all very sad. Our country is struggling with forest fires, our lungs are on fire. We are very sorry for our citizens who lost their lives, their homes and animals. My condolences to our country. We hope these dark days will end as soon as possible.

On the other hand, we continue our fight against the pandemic. Making events and openings in such difficult days are always controversial issues and difficult decisions for us as managers. However, this tournament has a much more important purpose than entertainment, it has a feature. That’s why, despite everything, we are holding this sports tournament.
This tournament, which we organized in memory of Ziya Berhan Kılıç, the captain of our ÇBSK Basketball Team, whom we lost at the beginning of this year, has a special importance for us. Although we are saddened by Ziya’s absence, we are here today, on the occasion of him, in the tournament we organized to instill in our youth the sport of basketball that he loves so much. Ziya’s sports life, which started thanks to his elders who held his hand while playing basketball on the street, was crowned as the captain of our ÇBSK Basketball Team, which plays in the Turkish Basketball 2nd League.
“We Are Together Through Sports From 7 to 70”
His story is unfinished, but I believe that this tournament will open the door to new stories thanks to him. We, as Çorlu Municipality, decided to support the ÇBSK coaches, managers and athletes who want to organize this tournament in order to hold the hand of our children like Ziya, who love sports very much, to instill sports culture in them and to shape their futures, and decided to bring this tournament to life. We are happy that we are here today, from 7 to 70, in the name of sports.
On this occasion, I sincerely wish success to our 244 athletes who participated in the tournament. I hope you will have a nice tournament that you will enjoy and get enough of basketball and sports. The First Day Was The Stage For Exciting Matches
Later, while the matches were started, Çorlu Mayor Ahmet Sarıkurt made the jump balls of the matches played at two different points. While 40 teams competed on the first day, the breathtaking and breathtaking matches were watched with excitement and interest by basketball fans. Award-winning shooting competitions were also held in the area where the 1st and 2nd round matches were played.
Athletes Cultural Tour Organized
A cultural tour was organized for the athletes participating in the tournament from different cities. Within the scope of the cultural tour, the athletes visited the Atatürk House, Yılmaz Büyükerşen Wax Sculptures Museum and the Historical Çorlu House. Athletes, who did not neglect to take a souvenir photo during the visits, signed the memory book at Atatürk House and lastly took photos in front of the representative Bandırma Ferry located in the garden of Atatürk House.
CrossFit Gets Likes
On the 2nd day of the Ziya Berhan Kılıç 3×3 Street Basketball Tournament, a CrossFit show was staged by the Fitness Park team in the area created next to the court while the basketball competitions continued. The show, which demanded a lot of strength and received great applause from the audience, consisted of Olympic weightlifting, basic gymnastics and athletics movements.
Zumba Event Excited
After the CrossFit show, a zumba event was held by Trakya Zumba Team. Participants of the Zumba event, regardless of age, kept up with the rhythm of the music. It was worth seeing the sympathetic movements of the little ones trying to keep up with the Zumba Team dancing on the stage with very lively music. After the zumba event, which lasted for about half an hour, the little ones took the stage, had fun and gave a mini zumba show.
On the other hand, the second day of the tournament ended with shooting and three pointer competitions as well as basketball competitions.
“Last Day Struggles Breathtaking”
The last day of the Ziya Berhan Kılıç 3×3 Street Basketball Tournament started with the quarter-finals and semi-finals. While approximately 7 thousand basketball fans watched the tournament, where the excitement never diminished, for 3 days, the competitions were breathtaking. Excitement peaked in the final competitions on the last day, where the three-pointers competitions were also organized. Serhat Kargın won the 3-pointer competition, where there was intense participation, while Burakcan Balcı won the midfield shooting award.
At the end of the highly competitive competitions, Trakya Power, consisting of Ziya Berhan Kılıç’s teammates, defeated the Black Hole team and became the champion. At the end of the competitions, while Black Hole was second, Golden Horn Jazz was third and Istanbull’s was fourth, Mesut Pehlivan was chosen as the most valuable athlete of the group. Mesut Pehlivan was also the award-winning spiker of the tournament in the age category.
There were exciting moments in the competitions in the Men of Hope category as well. At the end of the fights, Public became the champion, Two Thousand Five Hundred TL was the second, 3 Teapots was the third and Çorlu Rocks was the fourth, and Özgür Çelik was also selected as the most valuable athlete in the age category.
Two Thousand Five Hundred TL team, which also competed in the Young Men’s category, won the championship, while Belediye GNG took the second place and Çakallar Jr. third and Grand Vizier’s Left Turnstile took fourth place. The title of the most valuable athlete in the age category was Serhat Kargın.
There were tough matches in the Star Men category. At the end of the contested matches, the Claw team won the championship, while the Pink Panthers came second, Ambition third and the White Lodge fourth. Efe Yiğit Küçük became the most valuable athlete in the age category.
While the best matches of recent times were staged in the Little Boys category, the audience did not spare their support. At the end of the competitions where 3 Watermelons won the championship, 3 Stars took the second place, Çorlugücü took the third place and ÇBSK Bulls came fourth. Altay Çalışkan was selected as the most valuable player in the age category of the competitions.
Excitement was at its peak in the matches in the girls category. At the end of the competitions where Knaves won the championship, King Of Apricots came second, Egyptians consisting of Egyptian citizens came third and Stars came fourth. Melis Yağmur was selected as the most valuable athlete in the age category of the tournament.
Award Ceremony Held
While the Ziya Berhan Kılıç 3×3 Street Basketball Tournament came to an end with the award ceremony, the competition awards were presented to the Mayor of Çorlu Ahmet Sarıkurt, Ziya Berhan Kılıç’s father Can Kılıç, Deputy Mayors Adnan Kum, Güner Çetin and Kemaleddin Avcı, and the Member of Parliament and the Chairman of the Municipality Sports Commission. Mert Yılmaz presented it.

President Sarıkurt, in his speech at the closing of the tournament, thanked the participating athletes and those who contributed and supported them. We will keep the memory of Ziya alive by organizing the Ziya Berhan Kılıç 3×3 Street Basketball Tournament, which we organized, in the coming years, and we will raise valuable athletes like him by creating sports fields that will set an example. We will increase sports events.” he said.
The tournament ended with a mini-concert, in which the Çorlu Municipality Band and City Orchestra sang beautiful songs.
