Mud battle for Assauer inheritance: Daughter obtains arrest warrant against stepsister

Rudi Assauer, the legendary manager of FC Schalke 04, was once considered a football millionaire. When he died, however, he was facing bankruptcy. Now his daughter, who cared for him, is supposed to go to jail or to a bailiff to reveal where the millions have gone. Now his daughter Katy obtained an arrest warrant against her stepsister Bettina Michel.

The mud battle between the two daughters of the late FC Schalke icon Rudi Assauer never ends. As FOCUS Online found out, Katy Assauer has obtained an arrest warrant against her half-sister Bettina Michel. A higher court bailiff from Recklinghausen sent the woman in her mid-fifties a corresponding decision. It states that the officer was instructed to arrest Ms. Michel “for forcing an asset report.”

In order to avoid unnecessary fuss, the bailiff called the Assauer daughter into his office on August 18th. She must also bring all bank account documents and other statements of assets with her. If she does not comply, she will be arrested.

What became of Assauer’s million dollar fortune?

In essence, it is about the question of what became of the fortune of the late football manager Assauer. In 2011, Bettina Michel took her father, who had dementia, into her care. Since then, the ex-restaurateur and Assauer’s former secretary Sabine Söldner, along with a cosmetic surgeon, are said to have taken care of the football millionaire’s finances.

After his death two years ago, half-sister Katy Assauer filed a lawsuit for information about the assets of the Schalke legend. As a result, after much back and forth, Bettina Michel’s lawyers had submitted a list to the court. According to this, Rudi Assauer was on the verge of bankruptcy at the time of his death.

Assauer’s retirement reserve had apparently melted away. Seven and a half years later, only cash of 15,000 euros remained of the estimated net worth of 1.5 million euros in 2011. There was also a nine-year-old Opel Meriva and a stake in “Mr. Chicken Deutschland GmbH” amounting to 25,000 euros.

Assauer’s share in a real estate company in Radevormwald, in which his ex-girlfriend, the TV actress Simone Thomalla, had a share, does not seem to be worth anything. Since the soil is heavily contaminated, the Michel lawyers set the value to zero. At the same time, the daughter from the relationship with a childhood sweetheart of Assauer put the so-called “inheritance debts” in the form of funeral costs at 14,000 euros.

Katy Assauer’s lawyers estimate the estate to be worth 1 million euros

Katy Assauer, daughter from her first marriage, asked the Bochum district court for more information about the reasons for the financial crash. After all, she is considered a co-heir, and her lawyers have estimated the estate’s value at one million euros.

In addition, it is unclear what happened to the proceeds from the Schalke icon’s villa. According to the estate curator, Bettina Michel is also said to have sold three properties.

So far, Michel has not answered these questions. So now she faces compulsory detention if she doesn’t put the cards on the table.

Michel’s lawyers, Dirk Giesen and Burkhard Benecken, want to take legal action against the arrest warrant. “The fact that one sister wants to put the other behind bars shows how much the matter has escalated.” Katy Assauer had to “completely be frustrated, “said the lawyers. “Our client cannot explain this procedure to her stepsister in any other way”.
