The Toronto Blue Jays fell 9-3 against the Seattle Mariners on Saturday night.

Outside outfielder George Springer was injured during this game.

He left the game with a left ankle injury after he landed awkwardly while attempting to catch a ball. He was limping as he was escorted off the field by the team’s coaches and was later replaced by Corey Dickerson. Jays manager Charlie Montoyo revealed after the meeting that Springer is suffering from a minor sprain and that his condition will be reassessed on a daily basis.

Springer, 31, is batting .274 this season, with 16 homers and 35 RBIs in 48 games.

He’s already missed games this year with a quadriceps injury.

The Jays were 1 for 7 tonight with players in scoring position and they left nine players on the cushions.

Luis Torrens hit a three-run homer in the seventh inning at the expense of Trevor Richards. Jarred Kelenic also hit a long ball that was 6-3.

Abraham Toro produced a point. He pushed Mitch Haniger home on a single.

The Mariners won a fourth straight game.
