The star escape from the Danish Championships in badminton continues.
Viktor Axelsen and Anders Antonsen have resigned due to Olympic fatigue, and Denmark’s best women’s single, Mia Blichfeldt, must now also pull the plug.
It is an old injury in the right foot that means that Blichfeldt can not participate in the Danish Championships, which begins on Tuesday in Esbjerg.

– I’m really sorry that I do not get on the field in Esbjerg. But I will have to listen to myself and my body after the period that I have been through up to the Olympics, says Blichfeldt in the press release.
– I know that Badminton Denmark and Esbjerg have done a great job after so many jerks of the Danish Championships, and I am sorry that I can not play in front of the Danish fans. Now I just hope that through treatment and break I can get rid of it and get strong again.
Mia Blichfeldt smoked out at the Olympics in the round of 16 after a defeat to Indian Pusarla Sindhu, who ended up winning bronze.
Julie Dawall Jakobsen is now seeded as number one in women’s singles at the Danish Championships. The defending Danish champion, Line Christophersen, is second seeded.
The Danish Championship ends on Friday with the finals.
