Dhe basketball professionals from MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg complete the play-off semi-finals of the Bundesliga. The first place in the main round won the decider of the best-of-five series on Thursday with a clear 95:73 against the former series champion Brose Bamberg.
In the round of the last four, the Ludwigsburgs now face FC Bayern Munich, who had prevailed in four games against the Hakro Merlins Crailsheim. In the second semi-final, Alba Berlin and ratiopharm Ulm face each other.
After the Bamberg team had equalized with two home wins after two opening defeats, they were defeated in game five in all respects. The error rate of the guests was too high, so that the end of the season was sealed early. After just 30 minutes, the Baden-Württemberg team was clearly leading with 76:52 and they didn’t let up in the final section.
Bamberg had the best throwers in Bennet Hundt and Christian Sengfelder (19 points each), but their performance was not enough against the balance and rebound strength of the favorite. In Ludwigsburg, only two players did not score any points.
