In individual with Selene Rodríguez and by men’s teams

Selene Rodríguez and the men’s compound bow team won gold medals for Mexico at the World Junior and Junior Archery Championships that took place in Wroclaw, Poland.

In the under-18 category, Selene edged out top seed Priya Gurjar of India, 139-136, to claim her first win in her first international competition.

“I feel very excited, it is something that I have never felt before, I have never been to a world championship,” said Selene.

After tying with 28 points apiece, Selene took a three-point lead over Priya in the second final that she never let go of to clinch her first world title.

In the same modality and category, the Mexican team made up of Sebastián García, Luis Ledezma and Rodrigo Olvera beat Turkey’s hat trick 230-229 in a cardiac final.

With which Mexico added its second gold of the day in compound bow.

Mexico was crowned again in this category, because in 2019, in the city of Madrid, Spain, it also took first place.
