Márquez did everything to beat the Padres

He pitched, hit and even drove in. Venezuelan starter Germán Márquez showed off this Tuesday with the glove and the bat to guide the Rockies 7-3 victory over the parents.

The San Félix-born completed a 6 1/3 innings. And, although he was complicated with three races in the high seventh, he managed to add his 11th victory of the year.

Marquez, who also walked and struck out four, painted San Diego white in the first six innings. But trying to extend his performance he received solo home runs from Fernando Tatis, Jake Cronenworth and Tommy Pham.

His compatriot Jhoulys Chacín relieved him and got the two outs needed to preserve the 4-3 lead.

And on the downside of that same inning Charlie Blackmon and CJ Cron joined the home run party and drove in another three runs for the Rockies.

Marquez, who also had two runs on a single and double, left his record at 11-6 and ERA at 3.80.

San Diego starter Matt Strahm scored the backhand.
