Leandro Verón was champion of the First Class Tournament in Lincoln • Diario Democracia

Six June tennis players represented last weekend the Training Center of the Club Atlético Sarmiento, in the First Lincoln Tournament, which was held at Los Médanos Tennis Club.
The contest was played in the First Free category, that is, with no age limit, and the champion was Leandro Verón, director of the Green Training Center.
Among the Juninenses, Agustín González lost against Dalena by 6/3 and 6/4; Francisco Sosa fell to André Azar, 6/1 and 6/3; Javier Nassisi could not beat Dubra by 6/3 and 6/2; all of them, in the round of 16.
For his part, Bautista Monti lost in the quarterfinals, against Speroni, by 6/3 and 7/6, while Emiliano Salamone reached the semis and lost to Azar, by a double 6/3.
However, despite the good performance of the local player, the title remained for Verón, 42, from Junine, who on his way to consecration beat Sáenz by a double 6/0 in the second round; Nicolás Todino in the quarterfinals for 1/6 6/4 6/1, in almost 3 hours of play; in the semifinal to Speron by 6/1 and 6/0; and in the final to the young Azar, 17 years old, by 7/5 and 6/3.

Internal Tournament

On the other hand, next weekend a new Internal Tournament will be played in Sarmiento, in the Second, Third and Fourth Gentlemen categories.
Likewise, the boys of the minor categories of the Center will travel to Chivilcoy, to play the Regional Tournament, which is played at the La Pampa Club, which distributes points for the national ranking of the Argentine Tennis Association (AAT).
