Lazio Rome dominate Empoli, Atalanta is doing well against Torino

It was the return of Serie A this Saturday. Lazio Rome moved on the lawn of Empoli, Milinkovic-Savic and Immobile were holders, just like Pedro, for the Biancocelesti. Romagnoli and Crutone were present in the starting lineup of the promoted, who quickly opened the scoring through Bandinelli (1-0, 4th). But Lazio almost reacted to the next action, Milinkovic-Savic took over a cross from Anderson and equalized with a header (1-1, 6th). The Serb became a passer for the second goal of the Romans, scored by Lazzari (1-2, 32nd). Just before half-time, Immobile transformed a penalty obtained by Acerbi and allowed his team to make the break (1-3, 41st). The second act was calmer, despite a few opportunities for Empoli, including a strike on the bar (92nd), and the two teams parted with this score of 1-3.

Atalanta were also on the road to face Torino, with Ilicic and Muriel titular at the forefront of the attack. On the Turin side, Rodriguez and the former Nantes player Djidji started the meeting. Muriel gave the Bergamo club the advantage from the first minutes of the match. Starting from the right side, he went inside and sent a magnificent left-footed strike which would lodge in the skylight and deceive the opposing goalkeeper (0-1, 6th). Torino missed two opportunities to come back before halftime (34th, 43rd), but Musso repelled both attempts. It was not until the second half for Toro to realize their chances. Coming into play instead of Sanabria, Belotti equalized with a deflected shot from entering the area (1-1, 79th). In additional time, Bergamo passed again thanks to Piccoli (1-2, 93rd) and snatched the victory. Despite 19 strikes for Torino, against six for Atalanta, Gian Piero Gasperini’s men won and obtained their first victory of the season.
