Kisner wins in a six-party playoff

The American wins his 4th PGA Tour tournament on a birdie on the 2nd play-off hole. Australian Adam Scott had missed the boat moments before …

“This is my first playoff victory, Kevin Kisner said after winning the 2021 Wyndham Championship, a draw of zero wins in five career playoffs. Standing here is pretty cool … “

Birdie

The American, from Aiken, South Carolina, took the victory with a birdie on the second play-off, Sunday in Greensboro (North Carolina). A birdie that allowed him to beat Australian Adam Scott, Canadian Roger Sloan, American Kevin Na, South Korean Si Woo Kim and South African Branden Grace after all of them made pars on the first hole additional.

It was the third time in the history of the PGA Tour that a six-player playoff had been played and the first time that this had happened, some 20 years after Australian Robert Allenby won the Nissan Open – became the Genesis invitational – played at the Riviera Country Club at Pacific Palissades in Los Angeles, in 2001.

If there is one who can bite his fingers in the aftermath of Kevin Kisner’s success, it is Adam Scott. The former world number one indeed had the opportunity to put in a putt for the win of less than two meters during the first barrage, a few moments before Kisner transforms him, the opportunity that was offered.

Pro since 2006, Kisner (37), 52nd player in the world, won the fourth PGA title of his career, the first since 2019.
