Kemba Walker will be new Knicks player

Point guard Kemba Walker negotiated the purchase of his contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder and will now sign with the New York Knicks, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported.

Oklahoma City acquired Walker in a trade with the Boston Celtics in June, but he won’t end up playing a single game with them. The Thunder also received the 16th pick in the draft in that deal.

Walker averaged 19.3 points, 4.9 assists and four rebounds in 43 appearances last season. His time with the Celtics was marked by constant knee injuries, which did not allow him to show the level he had in the Charlotte Hornets.

Now the player who is a native of the Bronx in New York, will seek to shine on a Knicks team that is coming off the playoffs for the first time in a long time.
