The Dutchman achieves his second victory in the Vuelta and Roglic keeps the red ‘jersey’
The Dutchman Fabio Jakobsen (Deceuninck-Quick Step) won this Saturday the 8th stage of the Tour of Spain between Santa Pola and La Manga del Mar Menor (east), beating the Italian Alberto Dainese (DSM) and the Belgian Jasper in the massive sprint Philipsen (Alpcein).
Jakobsen, who did not compete again until April after his terrifying crash in the Tour de Poland-2020, got his second win in this edition of the Vuelta, after making his debut on Tuesday in the 4th stage ending in Molina of Aragon.
His victory this Saturday also allowed him to wear the green jersey of the points classification, with a total of 180 units, more than the 164 of Philipsen.
The Slovenian Primoz Roglic (Jumbo) kept the leader’s red jersey at the end of a stage in which he was attentive and which ended calmly within the peloton.
