New franchise for Ish Smith ! Shams reports that the point guard has struck a deal with the Charlotte Hornets. This is a one-year contract for which we do not know the amount.
With the sign & trade of Devonte’ Graham, the Hornets needed a backup in the lead and the veteran should do the trick. This season he was at the Wizards where he saw his stats drop quite a bit with 6.7 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 21 minutes over 44 games.
Charlotte is therefore her 12th NBA franchise and therefore equals the NBA record held by Joe Smith, Chucky Brown, Tony Massenburg and Jim Jackson. If you want the list: Pistons, Wizards, Sixers, Suns, Magic, Thunder, Rockets, Pelicans, Bucks, Grizzlies, Warriors and therefore Hornets.
