Drawing Thomas Cup and Uber Cup have been done. The following is the prediction of the Indonesian squad for the tournament which will be held in Aarhus, Denmark, 9-17 October.
Indonesian teams usually place 10 people for the Thomas Cup and Uber Cup tournaments. The composition chosen is four single players and six players, aka three pairs of doubles players.
With the condition of the tournament flow not running as regularly as it was before the pandemic, the composition of the Indonesian squad will consist of players who have high flying hours.
For the Thomas Cup squad, Indonesia will no doubt rely on Anthony Ginting and Jonatan Christie as the first and second singles.
The third single position will belong to Shesar Hiren Rhustavito while the fourth single will be filled by Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo.
Without an injury condition, Ginting and Jonathan’s position will not be shaken from the core squad of Team Thomas Indonesia. While the third single position may still be filled alternately by Shesar and Chico.

While in the doubles, the three pairs that will be brought are Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon, Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan, and Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto.
The qualities that are not much different from these three pairs will make Indonesia’s double formation change between Kevin/Marcus and Ahsan/Hendra, Kevin/Marcus and Fajar/Rian, or Ahsan/Hendra and Fajar/Rian.
Based on the rankings, Kevin/Marcus will only appear as the first doubles, while Ahsan/Hendra can advance to become the first doubles when paired with Fajar/Rian.
Indonesia occupies the first seed position in the 2020 Thomas Cup. Indonesia will be in the same group with Taiwan, Algeria, and Thailand. The top two teams at the end of the group stage will qualify for the quarter-finals.
