For the third time in as many rounds at the St. Jude Invitational, American Harris English completed his day atop the PGA event standings on Saturday.

The 32-year-old handed in a second straight 65 (-5) card, giving him a cumulative 192 (-18). This time, English had a clear five birdies.

Just like the day before, English finished the first 54 holes of the tournament with a two-stroke priority over a duo of golfers, Australian Cameron Smith and American Bryson DeChambeau.

“There are several good players behind me,” said the point guard, after his 54th hole of the competition.

“My goal will just be to stick to my game plan and execute the punches,” he added, “in anticipation of the final round. It will happen what will happen. I can’t control what other people are doing. ”

DeChambeau handed in the best card of the day, tied with Jordan Spieth, subtracting seven shots at par 70. The powerful slugger wedged eight birdies, including five on the second half of the course, and only one buggy.

The Mexican Abraham Ancer, who shared the second position after two rounds, can also hope to fight for the victory on the decisive day, he who now sits alone in fourth place. However, he is four strokes behind the leader.

For his part, the lone Canadian in contention, Corey Conners, took at least one par for a third straight day, handing in a second straight 69 (-1) card. This score allowed him to maintain his 25th place, tied with six other participants, with a cumulative score of 205 (-5).
