The name of New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley was removed from the list of unavailable players due to injury on Monday.

The 24-year-old will now be able to train without constraints and should be training for the first game of the 2021 campaign.

Last season Barkley was limited to just two encounters. He had torn several ligaments in his right knee during the second week of activities.

Head coach Joe Judge said last month his organization wanted to take all necessary precautions to ensure his footballer returned to be the dominant player he once was in the NFL.

In his first campaign on the Goodell Circuit in 2018, Barkley tallied 2,028 yards and 15 rushing touchdowns in 16 games. He was also named rookie offensive player of the year. The following season, he had 1,441 rushing yards and eight majors in 13 games.

The Giants kick off their 2021 season against the Denver Broncos on September 12 at MetLife Stadium.
