De’Aaron Fox is not moving from the Kings; nor by Ben Simmons

The Sacramento Kings are happy with De’Aaron Fox, and De’Aaron Fox is happy with Sacramento Kings. That, in a franchise that has 15 seasons without playoffs (the most in the NBA), is news. An important step, although perhaps insufficient to play the series this coming year, yes to finish laying the foundations of success in a franchise that has been doing the last years (thick veil over Bagley III> Doncic) things well.

Last month the interest they had shown from Philadelphia in an almost bareback trading card was leaked. Base by base. Simmons for Fox. But from California they closed the door to any negotiation with the favorite adjective in these conflicts: Non-transferable. This is how they considered their point guard of 163 million dollars.

And now, according to Paolo Uggetti of The Ringer, it is confirmed that we are facing a well-matched marriage. Fox is also happy in Sacramento and has no intention of having his high contract honored anywhere other than where the franchise that signed it is based.

The perimeter of the Kings points to the perimeter of guarantees, with Fox and Haliburton, the latter after splitting it as rookie. Harrison Barnes and Richaun Holmes are still on board and have proven solid and sought-after pieces. And no one can deny Hield’s scoring talent, despite his perennial transfer rumors. In addition, they have just drafted the very interesting Davion Mitchell, they have done with Tristan Thompson and for now they do not give up that Marvin Bagley III triumphs and deploys all the basketball that he treasures under the lights of his city.

If a League star like Fox doesn’t want to move to a contender as are the 76ers … something is going well indoors, and it is reason enough to restore some hope to a franchise that has not seen the light since Divac defended its colors while still dressed as a choir.
