Nobody said anything. I couldn’t even say exactly when the question was raised, whether we would continue to play or not. All I know is that we said as a team that we wouldn’t even start talking about it until we knew how Christian was doing. “
The team doctors then got the message “that Christian was stable again”. The decision to restart the game, which was supposedly made in consultation with all parties involved by the European Football Union, and which had already been massively criticized during the European Championship, would no longer be made today. “We talked about it a lot in the team and I think there is no one among us who wouldn’t be annoyed that we continued to play. It was a mistake, period, ”said Poulsen.

Denmark lost the game 0-1. The restart on the following day was also offered by UEFA. Poulsen said that the team had “not had a third option” not to continue playing and not to give a commitment for the next day. “We were under stress and shock. There was only left or right, a or b in our head. And so we decided on the better of two bad options. “
How things will go on with Eriksen in the meantime is open. In early August, the Inter Milan midfielder paid his club a visit. His employment contract there runs until the summer of 2024. “Eriksen is doing well and he is in excellent physical and mental condition,” said the Italians. Eriksen had met with all the important people in the club and talked to the doctors, it said.

Eriksen had a defibrillator used after his collapse in Copenhagen. And that is exactly where the problem lies. According to the statutes of the Italian league, the player with the medical device is no longer allowed to appear in Serie A.
Investigations should therefore show whether the defibrillator can soon be removed from the Dane. Recently, however, there were also reports that Eriksen could return to Ajax Amsterdam. He played for the Dutch between 2010 and 2013.
