Charles Woodson, from sacrifice to Hall Of Fame

Charles Woodson sacrificed his body Sunday to Sunday with a single objective.

Charles C. Woodson (October 7, 1976, Fremont, Ohio) was the fourth overall pick in the 1998 NFL Draft, recruited by los Oakland Raiders, from the University of Michigan.

He immediately became a starting cornerback– Played all 16 regular season games, intercepting five passes and forcing two fumbles to be named Defensive Rookie of the Year.

From that moment on, Woodson always took care of the best wide receivers in the league, and there are the spectacular duels he had with Randy Moss, the first of them in September 1999.

In fact, the “NFL Throwback” account has a video titled “Mega Matchup” of the rivalry between Woodson and Moss. In November 2003, Charles limited Randy – then the league’s most dominant wide receiver – to four receptions and 25 yards. In that season, Moss averaged 102 yards per game.

In 2006, Woodson signed with the Green Bay Packers. In total, he played in 254 regular-season games with both franchises and finished his illustrious career with 65 interceptions, fifth-best in NFL history.

He led the league in interceptions twice (2009 with 9 and 2011 with 7) and recorded at least one interception in every season he played for 18, one less than Darrell Green’s record of 19 in a row.

In 2009, when he was named Defender of the Year, he returned three interceptions to the end zone; in total there were 11 “pick six” that he converted into touchdowns and with his 13 defensive scores (two fumbles) he is tied for the first place of all time.

Although he was injured early in the match, Woodson won Super Bowl XLV with Green Bay, 31-25 over Pittsburgh. He also appeared in Super Bowl XXXVII, with Oakland; had an interception, but the Raiders fell 48-21 to Tampa Bay.

Woodson, winner of the Heisman Trophy, he was named a member of the 2000s Team of the Decade, a four-time All-Pro and invited to nine Pro Bowls.

The sacrifices were worth it and it was time to receive the glory with a deserved place in el Pro Football Hall Of Fame.
