Celtics to celebrate franchise history… without a game against the Lakers | NBA

The NBA will be celebrating its 75th anniversary, and throughout the season, there will be meetings dedicated to important moments in its history. Like November 1, 2021 with a “remake” of the very first meeting with this Raptors – Knicks. At the time, in 1946, the Knicks played on the Toronto Huskies court.

In Boston, celebrations will take place throughout the season, and the franchise has announced themed nights, and more precisely, it is about celebrating each decade of franchise history with “Decade Nights”. It will start on November 22 with the 80s, and a meeting against the Rockets. It will thus be a question of celebrating the title of 1986 won against the tandem Sampson-Olajuwon.

Then, on December 20, the Celtics will celebrate the 60s with the reception of the Sixers, whom they had eliminated four times in the playoffs, before challenging the Lakers in the final. Two days later, up to the 2000s with a match against the Cavaliers to recall the duels between Paul Pierce and LeBron James.

On December 31, the Celtics will challenge the Suns, and it will be to celebrate the 70s, and the title won against the Suns in 1974. Then, January 31, up to the last decade with a much anticipated poster against the Heat. Then on March 1, return to the 50s with a match against the Hawks, who at the time were playing in Saint-Louis. Finally, in April, the Celtics will celebrate the 90s with a game against the Pacers.

As we can see, there will be no game against the Lakers …
