At UAE Team Emirates they unload a new reinforcement every day. On Friday they kicked off with João Almeida. Pascal Ackermann, Marc Soler, Alvaro Hodeg and today George Bennett followed afterwards.
31-year-old Bennett has been defending the colors of Jumbo-Visma for 7 years. Last year he finished 2nd in the Tour of Lombardy. The New Zealand climber also finished in the top 10 of the Giro and the Vuelta.
At UAE Team Emirates, Bennett will strengthen the climber’s legion around two-time Tour winner Tadej Pogacar from next season.
“George is one of the best climbers in the pack. He brings a lot of experience and is an example for our young riders,” said Mauro Gianetti, UAE team principal.
“George will have his own opportunities, but he also has the qualities to work in a team.”
