Bucks close deal with Memphis for Grayson Allen

The Milwaukee Bucks have closed the transfer of Grayson Allen with the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for Sam Merrill and two future second rounds of the draft, according to journalist Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Wisconsin franchise will absorb the 4.1 million of the contract expiring (in case you do not accept the qualifying offer) from Allen by trade exceptión worth 4.9 million achieved by the transfer of DJ Augustin to Houston, added journalist Bobby Marks.

With this acquisition, the Bucks’ management shows once again that they are fully willing to make a financial commitment to win. He already did it before achieving the first ring and they now ratify it in order to try to add a new wound. In fact, the fine for exceeding the luxury tax has increased from 36 to 44 million after undertaking this operation.

The addition of Allen will add more offensive resources and another shooter profile capable of scoring and unloading some weight on Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday. In his two years in Memphis he averaged 9.8 points in 22.5 minutes, with a 3-point shooting of 39.5%.

For their part, the Grizzlies host a player who has had very little weight in Mike Budenholzer’s rotation and release $ 2.5 million in salaries. Merrill’s contract is not fully guaranteed (only $ 500,000 of the total 1.5 million) for the 2021-22 course.
