Cleveland recovers Lauri Markkanen in a three-team deal with Portland. The Bulls recover Derrick Jones Jr, Portland’s protected Draft pick, and a future draft second round. Blazers get Larry Nance Jr.
3 players involved, therefore, with a summary as follows below:
- Cleveland: Lauri Markkanen
- Portland : Larry Nance Jr
- Chicago: Derrick Jones Jr, 1st round of draft protected, future second round of Draft
A win-win-win deal? The future will tell, but the departure of Markkanen is in any case not illogical. At the end of the cycle at the Bulls, the Finn had clearly stated that he intended to relaunch his career elsewhere, and that he intended to leave Chicago. It is now done, while the athletic Derrick Jones Jr comes to reinforce the enticing roster in Illinois.
A rather interesting trade, which could benefit almost everyone. One thing is certain: the Bulls will be scary next year!
