Belgian promise captain Onana makes the switch to French national champion | league 1

Amadou Onana can try to prove himself next season in Ligue 1. The 19-year-old Belgian, captain of our promise team, has his signature in Lille until 2026. He comes from the German second division Hamburg.

Amadou Onana left for Germany after his youth academy at Anderlecht, White Star and Zulte Waregem. The midfielder chose Hamburg to develop further. In January 2020 he was able to sign his first professional contract there.

Now he is taking the step to Ligue 1. The 19-year-old midfielder signs a long-term contract with Lille, the French national champion.

“I am very happy to be here,” said our compatriot on the club’s website. “It is every footballer’s dream to play in Ligue 1, at a historic club, the national champion who will then also play the Champions League. Just thinking of that hymn gives me goosebumps.”
