Historic match between Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees in the ‘field of dreams’

Thirty-two years later Kevin Costner returns to the stadium where the Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees played in one of his biggest blockbusters. It was 1989 when he shot the scenes of the Hollywood film ‘Field of Dreams’ in Dyersville, four thousand inhabitants, in Iowa. Now he is back to see in the new stadium, built from scratch on the set of the film, which welcomed at least eight thousand fans of the White Sox and the Yankees, a game of the season that was played right in the ‘diamond’ made famous by the film. The ‘field of dreams’ became a reality. And so did Costner, who he played in the film Ray Kinsella, ‘stole the show’ from the event. Some of the current players were born years after the release of the film: but it remains the reference film for the small town of Iowa and beyond.
