A great European U 23 Championship has opened the door of the senior national team to Maurizio Andretta, who will play the Absolute European Championship in Turin from 12 to 19 September.
After being the winning pitcher against the Czech Republic last Tuesday, paired with starter Scotti, Maurizio repeated a remarkable performance in the semifinal against Germany, unfortunately lost by 1 to 0, but certainly not due to the performance of the pitchers. Andretta in total threw 6.1 shots, conceding 2 hits, 5 bases on ball and getting 12 K.
This performance reinforced the consideration that the staff and in particular the manager of the national team Mike Piazza have of him, calling him directly for the final meeting on September 5th.
It should be noted that only two other U 23 athletes have been called up: pitchers Aldegheri and Scotti.
The yellow-green club is proud of this call-up, which Andretta fully deserves and underlines that of the 24 called up, 13 are part of the two finalist teams in the championship, Fortitudo Bologna and San Marino, 3 come from the European champions of Parma, two from Neptune and one from Collecchio.

This is a great satisfaction and a recognition that joins the mathematical salvation achieved on Saturday 28 thanks to the double defeat by Fiorentina on the ground of Grosseto.
