The Australian Ashleigh Barty, first seed, walked the court this Thursday by easily eliminating Belarusian Victoria Azarenka, defending champion, to reach the quarterfinals of the Cincinnati WTA 1000 tennis tournament.
Barty, also number one in the WTA ranking, beat Azarenka (N.14) with partial 6-0, 6-2 in one hour and 12 minutes, and in the quarterfinals she will collide with the winner of the match between the Czech Barbora Krejcikova (N.9) and the Spanish Garbiñe Muguruza (N.8 ).
The Australian, who did not play for the second half of last yearHe has successfully returned to the circuit as he has five finals this year, including defending the title in Miami and victory at Wimbledon, his second career Grand Slam title.
