Atlético Nacional beat Real Santander 0-1, in play for the sixth date of group B in the 2021 Women’s League. The purslanes insisted throughout the match and at the end, a powerful right hand from forward Manuela González unbalanced a game in the one that the Santander women were doing a good game, but they could not hold the result, in part because they had one less player in much of the complementary stage.
The first minutes were studied for both teams, at 10, Viviana Múnera narrowly opened the scoring for the purslanes, with a shot that went near the goal of Real Santander. The Antioqueñas who today were playing in a completely green uniform had another clear chance through Alejandra Peraza, who with a powerful header sent the ball over the horizontal.
The visitors continued to insist on the opposite goal, this time at minute 19 with an incursion by Manuela González who with a powerful header demanded goalkeeper Lisa Cardozo. The game was becoming strong, so much so that at minute 21 Ana Fisgativa was replaced by Daniela Tamayo who suffered a cut on her head.
Even game about half of the first half, at minute 36, Nacional had the clearest play of the game after a collective play that Viviana Múnera failed to finish. Kelly Quiceno also tried from medium distance, but Cardozo gradually became the figure of the match.
The game went into the interval with a goalless draw that compromised the future of the group for the purslane in their race to advance to the semifinals. In the complementary stage, Nacional went out to look for the result, at the minute of play, Yisela Cuesta demanded from goalkeeper Cardozo who took a shot on the heart of the area with a changed hand.
At minute 19, goalkeeper Cardozo was sent off after a violent foul on Lady Andrade, being the last player, she got the second warning. In the local goal, Nicole Patiño entered, leaving the player Vanessa Córdoba. The purslane team was the clear dominator of the party, but it was difficult for them to specify the actions created.
The green insistence intensified in the last minutes, in injury time, Kelly Quiceno from middle distance sent the ball to the vertical. In the third minute of added time, forward Manuela González took advantage of a center from the left sector to kick her right leg and send the ball to the back of the net, sentencing the game in favor of the purslane who got three key points thinking about the classification.
On the next date, Atlético Nacional will face DIM-FI in the Antioqueño classic, while Real Santander will face Atlético Bucaramanga.
