Now he crosses the pond to settle in the city of Sangolquí, near the capital, Quito, as his chief scout at a club that was champion of the 2019 South American Conmebol, runner-up of the 2016 Copa Libertadores, of the 2013 Ecuadorian Championship. IDV is now the leader of the Ecuadorian First Division after the four-game league match, with four victories, ahead of Emelec and Guayaquil City. “It is a very attractive project, the club is like a family and also a benchmark in Ecuador,” Mota himself tells El Correo from his destination in South America. “I wanted a new adventure, it means a new adventure to grow up,” he concludes.

He has worked for Barça (2002-6), at Aspire Africa Fútbol Dreams (2007-8), Real Madrid (2008-14) and since 2014 in the circle of Aspire Kas Eupen, until now since his last destination in Senegal, where he lived 24 hours for and with football as a passion that he savors every second. “I’m already going around the country seeing Ecuadorian boys for the first team and for training,” slides the pizpireto ‘scouting’ from Bilbao, eager to draw his roadmap in the IDV. In Senegal, he had settled for the last three years in Saly, near Dakar, after his time at Eupen in Belgium, as well as the Dreams Soccer Academy, where he trained African players before his final leap to Europe.
