Apreba requested responses from the AdC and the CAB «Diario La Capital de Mar del Plata

The Argentine Basketball Press Association (Apreba), an entity that brings together the specialized basketball press in the country, issued a statement on Monday addressed to the current leadership of the Association of Basketball Clubs (Adc) and the Argentine Basketball Confederation ( CAB), requesting answers to the continuous inquiries of numerous representatives of the media that are not properly channeled. In this way, the organisms that govern the sporting destinations of basketball in the country conspire against the correct diffusion of their own activity. The statement is transcribed below:

“One month before the start of the competition, with a Super 20 whose calendars, groups and dispute system have not yet been informed, Apreba reiterates in this way his concern on topics pertinent to the diffusion of basketball in our country.

1) Increasing levels of centralization and discretion are observed in the distribution of job opportunities, especially those related to streaming transmissions. We are concerned about what type of management and planning are carried out, who is responsible for the selection of personnel and with what criteria.

2) There is a delayed response from the leadership of AdC and CAB to the requests that this Association has made since March 3, 2021, in a note sent to Messrs. Gerardo Montenegro and Sergio Guerrero.

3) It is surprising that the authorities, despite their public discourse in favor of the professionalization of the different areas, have disinterested in the Press Responsible Course promoted by our entity.

4) It is also striking and contradictory the lack of official endorsement of the Unique Credential issued by Apreba, despite the fact that almost a year ago Mr. Fabian Borro, during a Zoom carried out with members of our institution on September 26, 2020, it had confirmed its national validity.

Regardless of the indifference of AdC and CAB to our claims, We will continue working in defense of the activity of all the people linked to basketball communication“. The statement bears the signature of Apreba’s board of directors.

It is public knowledge that the national basketball leadership seems long lost in its own maze. And that has been reflected, despite his efforts to try to prove otherwise, in a deterioration in the level of skills, decreasing public interest and other issues that indicate a appreciable involution.
